Wearable Arthritis Monitoring Device
PROJECT OVERVIEW
Smart compression gloves deliver cooling, heating, and compression with real-time Bluetooth feedback for personalized arthritis relief
This project addresses early-stage arthritis discomfort through smart gloves that combine two therapeutic modalities—cooling and compression—with Bluetooth connectivity for real-time monitoring. Unlike generic glove solutions, our design adjusts to individual user needs and tracks key metrics like oxygenation and circulation to maximize relief. It’s a proactive, personalized approach to managing symptoms before they worsen.
Arthritis symptoms and diagnoses are becoming increasingly common as technology advances and more people rely on devices like computers and smartphones. I can personally attest to some of these symptoms, as my hands often feel numb and sore after just a few minutes of gaming or even typing for a school project.
As people age, their bones weaken, causing these symptoms to worsen. While there is no cure for arthritis, managing the pain it causes can significantly reduce its impact. Our smart gloves combine three therapeutic sensations- cooling, heating, and compression, to help alleviate arthritis discomfort while providing real-time feedback through Bluetooth connectivity to an app.
Many arthritis gloves on the market are not personalized, failing to address individual pain needs. Our gloves, however, are adjustable to suit each user’s preferences while also monitoring oxygen and blood circulation levels. This feedback allows users to fine-tune the gloves for maximum comfort and effectiveness.
It’s crucial to start using these solutions early before symptoms become too severe or permanent to fully address.
